Realize that today is the 10th anniversary... of the release of The Phantom Menace.

I'm sorry... what was The Phantom Menace?

And is it related to the two hours of lost memory that I have from ten years ago?

Gosh, that doesn't make me feel old.

It does make me wonder if someone can go back and release a better version, though. :)

(I'm one of those weirdoes who liked all the prequel movies, despite their flaws.)

It could have been worse. This could have been the tenth anniversary of when Jackie Chan decided to fill the role of Yoda and the last shred of hope I had that Lucas could pull these films from the barrel dive of suck evaporated.

... Of course that is not that far away from now.

I waited in LINE for that shit.

I saw it in Paris with only like 5 people in line. At least reading the French subtitles was more entertaining than the movie.

How about we remember the Weird Al plot-summary song instead?

That has to wait another few weeks, I think. Wikipedia says June 24, but I think the video must have come out faster than the album...

Good choice!

I have to say, that doesn't make me feel any way in particular.

I mean, I hated the movie, but it wasn't what I would exactly call a significant milestone in my life.

You say people gonna age?

We saw the Boston premiere of it. It was my wedding present to remcat. Her being such a huge movie fan I knew that a big-deal premiere would make a great gift, so I made a few calls and managed to score invites to both the Boston and the L.A. events, and offered her the choice of which.

So, we got to see the movie before all the folks who waited in line for six weeks, all without the unpleasantness of waiting in line for six weeks....

Which is good, since, it really was not worth a six-week wait...
