too soon?

Tragedy struck the entertainment world today as Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment. At first police suspected an overdose, but on further investigation it was found that he fell victim to a freak chemical reaction between deodorant, baby powder, hair spray, and lipstick. Jack Nicholson is being sought for questioning.

it sounds like he really stressed himself out trying to be dark enough for the joker, and that it may have contributed to sleep issues, hence sleeping pills.

perhaps in a few days the facts of the situation will be clearer.

Yes. Too soon.

The good ones always die young, don't they ...

Even moreso the great ones.

Yeah, that's tasteless. A nasty way to find out, for those of us who don't read or listen to news first thing in the morning.

Poor guy.

My turn to be tasteless ...

Now we know who will win the applause-o-meter popularity contest during the obits film at the Oscars. Provided they go on, of course.

Oof, sorry. I didn't even consider that I might be the way someone learned of it. I learned about it last night on my way out of work, when I read it on the little news screen in the elevator. That's right, in the elevator at work.

And then when I got home, every geek site I took a look at had some kind of thing about him, some obit or tribute, with one site quipping with the headline "Entire Internet scrambles for First Post on Heath Ledger's death."

Maybe I stay a little too well connected.

No worries! I wouldn't have said anything, but you asked ... ("Too soon?) I figured it was "old news" for everyone but me. Heck, I wouldn't have known 9-11 was happening, except that Dave called on his way to work.

I've purposefully stopped listening to "news" -- though I'm still an avid NPR fan. I find that more often than not it upsets me without bringing anything helpful to the table. (Fires, car crashes, etc.) It's made life a lot better, to be honest! I'm still an Entertainment Gossip junkie at heart, though -- I get EW and love it.
