A headache is eating up my Sunday. I have napped a couple times, taken Advil... orange juice, apple juice, a light lunch of crackers & cheese... distract myself with a movie, distract myself with TV, bundling up warm and cozy in bed, none of these seem to be doing the trick.

I'm trying to resist the urge to cure it with caffeine, in case this day is the first step towards easing off an addiction.

But anyway, the things I'm expected to get done this weekend, like prepping a D&D run for Wednesday, creating a character, or packaging up the electronic complete works of Shakespeare, are not getting done today, as everything I do is looked at through a mist of pain.

Hm, I wonder if it could be dental related. The pain is moving down to kind of above my gums. I haven't been to a dentist in too long.

Hopefully I'll manage to get everything done that I need to do on a later day this week. I should be able to cobble something together by Wednesday's run, anyway. *sigh* I had a whole month to prep.

You mentioned two kinds of juices. Does water go without saying?

If it were earlier in the day, I'd suggest sudafed, but sudafed perks me up, so I wouldn't take it so late it in the day. Other people may have other experiences, though.

(Not that you asked for advice, but the water thing just jumped out at me, and then I was already typing...)

Juice... contains mainly water, doesn't it? And nutrients?

Anyway, I'll try it, thanks.

I can drink more water than juice, because water isn't sweet. But I forget that some people can go through a half-gallon of OJ in a day.

I wouldn't be well-hydrated after drinking my fill of apple and orange juices. Other people might be, because their, uh, fills are larger. (Perhaps "capacities" would be the appropriate word for that concept!)

I've been sickish for a few days. I hope I didn't give it to you.

When I'm a little but not very sick, I frequently find that a light workout helps. I go to the gym and get on the treadmill or the elliptical and just go at a medium speed, watch some TV, zone out. I somehow feel I'm able to "sweat out" some of the badness.

I actually did a little bit of stuff yesterday after my first personal trainer meeting (read: sales pitch for personal training). But today it felt like that level of movement would only have made things worse. There was a slight nausea aspect to the headache.

It's mostly gone now, I think. Water got me to the point where dinner seemed like a good idea.
