Chicago Greyhound Stations

They scare me. Not because of the buses or the people. Because of the food stand. Two spine-chilling words: "Just Gravy."

When I lived in Dayton, OH, there was a chain of KFC knock-off restaurants called "Lee's Famous Chicken". It's still the only fast food place I've been to that has "Liver or Gizzards" on their menu.

But they had a great $2.99 deal for two pieces and two sides on Wednesdays. >.> <.

Was "Liver or Gizzards" your choice, or theirs?

I don't know, as I never dared to order it... and I wondered if the employees even knew what you would get.

I haven't lived in the Carolinas for ages, but you used to be able to get a box of fried chicken livers at KFC there. One of my favorite foods -- I wish I could get it up here somewhere.

My favorite part of the chicken, growing up, was the gizzard. When my mom bought a sufficiently whole chicken, that still had the organs, she'd cook that up for us. The whole family fought over who would get it.

So based on that menu, I could order "just gravy" and get it with "extra gravy".

Dear god, I'm salivating!

You doctors have been telling us to drink eight glasses of gravy a day! (5F03)

I think you're confused.
