So when I was in Pittsburgh, I rented a car. But not just a car, an SUV; the Toyota RAV4. Don't tell my hybrid!

It was cheaper than the other options. I wonder if that's a sign of what people generally look for in their rentals these days?

Anyway, it was nice. Comfy, kinda luxurious, and good sight lines. Er, don't tell my hybrid. Anyway, I wouldn't buy one, but I might rent one again. Who knows?

I've been really happy with mine.

Hybrid SUVs seem to be this year's big thing, so it's possible to (somewhat) have your cake and eat it too.

Yeah, I saw a Ford (!) hybrid SUV parked near my neighborhood last year.

Car rental prices don't make much sense. Once I was planning transportation for five people on a four-hour drive from Dulles and thought I would have to spend a lot of money (not my own, but still) to get a large car. When I started poking around on the net, I discovered that I could get a minivan for less than the price of an economy vehicle. Score!

If you ever want that feeling again, we could trade cars temporarily. I haven't driven a hybrid but I've been in one plenty. :) Tony HATED driving the Toyota Corolla we had, but he LOVES the 2001 RAV 4 we have. loves loves loves. It's nice that he drives more now, takes some pressure off me.

So, yeah. :) (the good thing is also that our 1995 Toyota Corolla had like 28 mpg, so getting 26 mpg with the rav 4 isn't such a big deal).
