Jarring moments in product placement

"Aw, come on, it's my favorite bar, they get the DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket. Don't get me banned!"

"Not the Rogue!"

Ok, why was "Blue Nissan Versa" amusing, while the Nissan Rogue in this pilot was irritating? Delivery, writing, or both? I think I blame lazy writing.

I'll be posting about my Pittsburgh trip soon.

Yeah, sloppy writing. The "Nissan Versa" was integrated in a funny way -- the comic book says I have to rent this specific car, so I have to. That was believable.

The "Rogue" bit was just stupid. It might be vaguely believable in a line like, oh, "Not the Porsche!" although even that would be stretching it. "Not the Rogue!" is like saying, "Oh, yay, chicken for dinner again?"
