I think so far, this post by Rodney Thompson is the source of a large part of my impression of 4th Ed so far. So blame him if I blather too much about the new shiney thing.
"25th level spells" ? dude, they must be on crack and a half if they think they are going to be simplifying the magic system that way.
That said, I'm hoping that the magic system would go in the direction that stances and such work in Tome of Battle. You get a certain number of spells per encounter, and then they refresh. Ditto on Turning and magic item usage.
And I hope magic items aren't going away ... because that would suck. Not only would it not be D&D, it also wouldn't be like WoW either (which is something at least a few folks have been saying they hope 4E is like).
