For those who missed it the first time around, Narbonic is now in reruns, with Director's Commentary! Though, be warned - Shaenon says there will be spoilers in the commentary, so... it may not be the best way for someone unfamiliar with the strip to read after all.

Anyway, the strip is, in general, recommended. It just finished its run yesterday with a nice big Sunday dealie. Mad Science + Cute = evil! Yay :)

I don't get what's going on with Irregular Webcomic. He said he's done yesterday, but there's a new strip today? Huh?

Anyone have some light to shed on the subject?

Foxtrot's moved to a Sundays-only format. *snif*

IWC ending?
Read through the comments for the first all-black-panel strip (from the Fantasy theme). If you can't make it all the way through (it's very long), you can skip the `nature of art' and `modern art doesn't really suck, I learned' parts and just read the last 6 parapgraphs or so.

Re: IWC ending?
I even remember reading that back then... heh.

But... he kinda pointed out the end; does that mean we've already missed the surprising bit? Or... At least it explains why he was talking in commentaries about plots still planned for the future and stuff, though.

Wouldn't yesterday's strip have been the last one, even in this mad scheme?

Re: IWC ending?
One way to create a surprise ending for a story is to end the story before the end of the book, as Hofstadter suggested.

But DMM couldn't do that, as he'd already mentioned it. It wouldn't be a surprise, since he warned us.

What he could do, though, is instead of ending the story before the end of the book, end the book before ending the story.

No, not the last one; just the end. Who knows when the last one will come?

Foxtrot's disappearance from daily papers has opened up a slot for Diesel Sweeties in a number of papers, since it's starting syndication in about a week.
