machine names

I used to be better at this. I need a name for my new PC at work. I'm out of non-headline starship names... maybe back to cartoon characters.

Though, I think "Hiro" isn't taken... hmm...

It's a starship, an RV, *and* a horse.

I think this may be the winner.

Define "non-headline starship name," please.

Excelsior, Stargazer, Pegasus: yes.
Enterprise, Galactica: no.

Agamemnon, Alexander, Churchhill, Vesta, Hyperion
Lexington, Farragut, Exeter
can't remember the name of the carrier in S:A&B, so it'd probably qualify
Prince Serg

Okay, that's all I'm coming up with off the top of my head, but I could surely find more.

Defiant, Excalibur, and TARDIS are all "headline" ships in my book, I think...

I was thinking the Andromeda from the Starblazers (hey, it wasn't headline) and then I realized that there was a whole other Andromeda, and I even watched that show.

Pegasus? from Galactica and Gundam ...

White Star?

I wish I had my library of books out, I could find you some there ... eh.

At SCSU, one can tell which machines were set up by which admins based upon the names; The three unix admins (Matt, Jason, and I) name for different pantheons - I go with Norse, Matt goes Greek, and Jason goes Egyptian. The lab machines that Dr. Parikh set up are named for the traditional names of bright stars. Proxima, Zaurak, Vega, etc...

I have to admit, I broke my "non-headlining" restriction to name a laptop Serenity.
