So after a bit of talking Lisa and I decided to go for a bike ride, then go to Walden. I delayed a bit getting my gear together, and we finally got out on the bike path at 12:45 or so.
Let me say now, the new bike clothes makes a huge difference in comfort while biking - it breathes, it pads, and I felt pretty good going out... for a while. :)
We biked to Davis Square... walked the bikes across, and then biked to Arlington Center... to Spy Pond... to the Bike Shop...
A couple times I stopped to rest; Lisa was very patient, even though she's in a lot better shape than I am. By the Bike Shop I was slowing way down and feeling a little out of it. A long stop to chat in the sun helped that out.
When all was said and done, we made it all the way out to Lexington Center. This is huge, for me. I did it once before, when I was in better shape, with
I need to do it again. I need to get to the point where it's not a huge deal anymore... And that means practicing it.
On the way back, we decided to stop by
It's always fun to compare notes about our different educational backgrounds... hearing horror stories of certain math teachers makes me appreciate the U of M (Minnesota, not Michigan. Duh!) programs of my youth that much more.
Anyway, it was a great day, I actually did something, and in the morning and evening I still got to play my video games with online friends. Can't beat that!
