I really, really enjoyed running my D&D game tonight. Things really came together with the party at the last minute; insecurities proved unfounded, or at least easily swept under the rug, thanks to supportive players. I still feel a little like I just came out of four hours where my eyesight had a big black border around it, giving me severe tunnel vision, but I think that the evening ended with me in a much better state of mind than when it started.
I finally pulled it off. And Eberron was as fun a setting as I thought it would be. I managed to place characters' backgrounds in different parts of the world, based largely on what they requested. There're some good solid connections made here, and some extra plot hooks just crawled out of the woodwork, unbidden!
Now to work on making it more than just a straight module run. Well, maybe after the tunnel vision subsides a little more.
