Ok, so yesterday I gave up after five minutes on the elliptical trainer before showering and starting the day... today I made it to twenty. tonight I'm going to get one of those things that sits on the exercise machine and holds a book so you can read it, and then tomorrow I'll be able to do forty-five minutes, I'm sure of it. The holding of the book was the most annoying part of the experience this morning... made me eventually put the book away and get bored.

So yeah, this "exercise before the day begins" thing might just work out all right.

What is this "things that sits on the exercise machine and holds a book"?! I need one of those. I had the same experience. I found the bicycle just intensely boring, and holding a book was extremely awkward. Where can I find one of these "things that sits on the exercise machine and holds a book"?

But make sure to have some rest days. Maybe do the trainer M-F. And stretch out afterwards, especially as you're ramping up your routine.

I should do more stretching stuff. Do you have any good pointers to good info on that, by any chance? :)

I've noticed that the elliptical trainer really tightens up the butt area. Have you been getting sore yet?

Where are you working out? Do you have a home machine that you like, or are you getting to a gym?

Neither. We have machines and a shower at work. It's quite cool, I highly recommend it.

You even inspired me to go work out today, even though my schedule got all caflooied. :)

Remember, if you can through the first couple weeks, you'll be that much closer to making it a habit, which will make it that much easier to keep it up!
