tidbits

MA has given preliminary approval to the Civil Union amendment... Hopefully we can rally to defeat it by the next meeting of the constitutional convention on March 29. Kudos to baronet and bluepapercup for standing out in front of the state house, lending voice and face to the cause!

New laptop has me a little bit addicted to DAoC... but last night I got home after dinner/drinks with friends, and resisted the call for quite a while, doing chores around the house first, making sure everything was in order, and not being ignored. Once I was done with that, doublechecking that I was into my leisure time, I allowed myself some more time online. Laptop in front of TV with Buffy Season 4 DVDs is a dangerous combo, though. I'm glad I forced myself to do laundry and stuff last night before even starting up the electronics.

I also watched a little bit of Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth on my Replay last night, recorded in August... It's been sitting there waiting to be watched for quite some time. I'm not sure I agree that all stories need follow his template, but it does seem like it would make a good template for, say, a game. I still have been only puttering about in that quarter, though. No writing done yet.

The other thing that looks very interesting is the Mono project by, um, "the Ximian division of Novell." I wish I could work on these kinds of developer tools in my job. Working with specifics just seems so... uninteresting, when there's still so much work to be done in general terms, to enable others to fill in their own specifics.

You're welcome!

I'll be there on March 29th with signs in hand.

Yes, go y'all! I didn't make it this time, but it was great last time, and I hope to be there again next time.

don't forget awfief, who had people in the trenches from the organization she pours so much work into. As well, that organization is a founding coalition partner of MassEquality, which is the coalition of groups that's doing most of the work.

Sorry, I was just reporting what I knew from scrolling back a bit on my friends page, and what I heard from word of mouth.

Keep it up!
