Then I got to work and saw a DNC blog entry about Bill Frist's website poll. Apparently it used to say "Should the Senate exercise its Constitutional duty to provide the President's judicial nominees with an up or down vote?" and it had been answered with 86% "No". Yesterday evening, according to Atrios, the question became "Should the Senate be prevented from exercising its Constitutional duty to provide the President's judicial nominees with an up or down vote?"
Without resetting the numbers.
Then it became "Should the Senate from exercise its Constitutional duty to provide the President's judicial nominees with an up or down vote?"
At some point he must have gotten tired of messing around with his poll, since now it reads: "Which highly qualified nominees to the federal bench are being filibustered by Senate Democrats?" Answers: Janice Rogers Brown, Carolyn Kuhl, Priscilla Owen, or all of the above?
Interestingly enough, there's only one of these that's the right answer, Priscilla Owen; the other two judges being filibustered are Charles Pickering and William Pryor, Jr. Miguel Estrada withrew his candidacy under the shadow of filibuster. So, oddly enough, it seems that the current question... is a quiz, to see what kind of visitors Frist gets at his website? But wait... a search on the other names... shows that Brown has been filibustered. What is going on here? Is the NY Times wrong? Or what?
I gotta run to a meeting... I'll figure it out later.
