Ten years since...since the movie. Since the walk. That night. And the Gungun with frightened, hollow eyes and a voice like glass being crushed... Since all sense left my life.
It could have been worse. This could have been the tenth anniversary of when Jackie Chan decided to fill the role of Yoda and the last shred of hope I had that Lucas could pull these films from the barrel dive of suck evaporated.
We saw the Boston premiere of it. It was my wedding present to remcat. Her being such a huge movie fan I knew that a big-deal premiere would make a great gift, so I made a few calls and managed to score invites to both the Boston and the L.A. events, and offered her the choice of which.
So, we got to see the movie before all the folks who waited in line for six weeks, all without the unpleasantness of waiting in line for six weeks....
Which is good, since, it really was not worth a six-week wait...

It does make me wonder if someone can go back and release a better version, though. :)
(I'm one of those weirdoes who liked all the prequel movies, despite their flaws.)
It doesn't make me feel old. It does make me wish I had made better use of the last ten years.
... Of course that is not that far away from now.
I mean, I hated the movie, but it wasn't what I would exactly call a significant milestone in my life.
