airport follies

Getting to the airport by the red line and silver line takes a lot longer than I remembered it taking, even without construction at Charles St. and getting on the wrong train at Park St.

So after missing the direct flight, it turns out I'm back on the flight that connects through LAX. And it seems the flight from LAX-SFO has been mysteriously converted to a first class seat in the process.

I have to say, the AA 767 was a much nicer flight experience than the NW 757. In-flight movies! And I got to see an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" that I hadn't seen. It must be really cheap to get the rights to show Cheers and Wings episodes on flights; they filled the rest of the flight time with that, once they ran out of actual content. :)

Anyway, just checking in real quick from LAX before boarding. Turns out this airport Internet service I bought, on a whim, in Minneapolis, a few weeks ago, continues to be useful.

Edit: I gotta use an LA Story lj icon for this post!

Glad to hear you made it to the Left Coast mostly unscathed!

D'oh. Sorry about that.

I think the Silver Line is slow on Sundays. But I'm glad you made it ok.

When travelling on business, I always take taxis to/from Logan. In this case, you're already giving them a Sunday by flying, so they have nothing to complain about if you save time by taking a cab. But I take cabs whether I'm travelling on a weekend or not --- a cab to Logan saves 45ish minutes, which is a noticeable fraction of the total door-to-door travel time.

yay 767's
yeah, I pretty much fly through LAX instead of taking direct flights
to the east coast, because they fly their 767's on those routes. Business/First on those planes is actually comfy.

So now tell us all about your San Fran experience...
