I blame Maggie Gyllenhaal

...but Stranger than Fiction really struck a chord with me. Currently I rank it up with Groundhog Day for movies about Living Your Life.

I'll watch it again in a week or two, after the recentness shine has faded, and see if it stands up.

But wow.

I disagree
Sure, I see where the film *wanted* to go, and I didn't even hate it, despite the presence of Will Farrell, but... it's no Groundhog Day.

It's too small in scope, too narrated (however necessary for the plot), too obvious with its intentions, and the characters too contrived. (The only thing that works with farrell's character is that he is entirely fabricated in the author's head, and simply didn't exist before the beginning of the film.)
