news quote of the day

"One suspect was arrested today in Rome, Italy's Foreign Ministry says on its Web site."

Anyone else see why I found this confusing?

Was the suspect arrested for something of import to countries other than Italy?

No...

I guess I should just come out and say it; I was hoping other people had the same impression as me, at first glance, that Rome, Italy's Foreign Ministry was a building...

those darn commas! they don't go nearly as far as they used to! :>

"One suspect was arrested today in Rome, says Italy's Foreign Ministry Web site."

Shorter, less apt to be confusing.

My big question is, *why* were they arrested? and *what* were they suspected of?

Yes. The suspect was arrested for an attempted bombing in Britain.
